Jax and Anna, the hosts of Blowing a 4.0, wanted an entire visual revamp of their show— from logo to cover art. We created a visual package that encompassed the true nature of the podcast: two women that aren’t afraid to speak on topics that may be considered taboo. Such a powerful podcast deserves a powerful image that still resonates with their target audience: young women.
After creating the logo, we developed the color palette. The palette needed to be feminine to encompass that aspect of their show.
The color palette was feminine but how would we incorporate the rough-around-the-edges aspect of the show? With texture and imagery. We started with a coarse paper texture and rugged cutouts of images of women. The women featured are from time periods where the female thought would’ve been silenced or overlooked. Mix that with exclamation marks and percentage signs to signify cursing or taboo speech and the imagery for the show came together. A bold header font with a legible body typeface created a unique and captivating look to use for all creative assets.
