Background + Roots
KindRun is the cannabis industry’s first cashless cannabis delivery service. Based out of Hudson, Massachusetts, KindRun is reimagining how cannabis is purchased. An industry that’s been traditionally cash-only, is now being disrupted by retailers like KindRun that empower customers to pay directly from their device (made possible by KindTap, another Prime Scale client.)
KindRun is rooted in social equity and aims to normalize cannabis—from how it’s purchased to how it’s paid. Keeping this in mind, we had a task to create a brand design that resonated with its core values.
The Logo
We started with the logo. The logo needed to encompass “approachable” and “professional.” Giving the logo a vertical motion gave it the energy we wanted to convey. We paired this motion with custom, rounded lettering, and a signature stand-alone “K” ultimately creating the final logo.
Branding Design
We created over a dozen palettes with color combinations to determine the perfect aesthetic: The green and tan colors pay homage to the brand’s roots in unregulated markets while the orange accent drives the youth and energy of KindRun. The orange plays the same role for KindRun that teal plays a role for Tiffany— a signature color.
Package Design
We wanted to design packaging that not only felt premium but also had “Instagram-able” potential. (We promise that will be the only time we use Millenial slang.) The packaging had to feel premium to appeal to older customers while still having a unique aesthetic where younger consumers would want to share it with their friends via social media. A well-designed package has potential to market itself (and user-generated content is free). We created a special carryout bag with heavier weight paper for standard transactions and created their subscription box (“The ReRun Box”) to accompany it.
Social Media Management
After the brand design was completed, KindRun asked us to not only help create their social media content, but to also manage their channels with a growth-first strategy.
We created a more dynamic and energetic look and feel to the brand for social channels that encompass one or more of the following aspects:
- Entertainment
- Education
- Product/Service
With this approach (and other strategies we can’t publically share), the KindRun social channels have seen significant growth since launch in late April of 2022. While all of the content so far has been still images, KindRun continues to grow their in-house team and a video strategy is being developed. These efforts and more will help the brand reach new heights in the digital space.
